Round Rock, TX

Located North of Austin in the Central Texas Hill Country, Round Rock combines the neighborly feel of a small town with the dynamic diversity of big city living. The City of Round Rock is in Williamson County and lies just 15 miles North of Austin, making it an ideal home base for commuting to work or exploring the Hill Country.

Today, Round Rock is home to around 125,000 residents and is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation. In addition, Round Rock was recently ranked the 6th fastest-growing city in Texas, while Austin was ranked number 7. Due to this explosive growth, Round Rock has transformed from a sleepy suburb into a thriving city with a robust economy and an unparalleled quality of life. Despite its new status as a “super suburb”, the city remains a close-knit community with small-town roots.

Here’s a little history about those small-town origins and Round Rock’s role in shaping the history of Central Texas. The City of Round Rock dates back to the 1850’s and is named for an actual round rock right in the middle of Brushy Creek. This rock served as a landmark for a low-water crossing for wagons and horses as they made their way through the Texas Hill Country. Because of that significant round rock, a community sprang up around this Brushy Creek water crossing, and the small town of Round Rock was born. You can still visit the famous round rock at Chisholm Trail Crossing Park and learn more about the city’s fascinating history.

A Great Place to Call Home

With all the conveniences of metropolitan living right at your fingertips, Round Rock is an attractive city that offers a vibrant and dynamic lifestyle to those who call it home.

The local Round Rock Real Estate Market is booming and is expected to continue to grow into the future. Homebuyers in search of a high quality of life combined with a low cost of living should look no further than Round Rock. Round Rock also boasts substantially lower housing prices when compared to Austin, without sacrificing quality or convenience.

The City of Round Rock has made a name for itself as a leader in business and industry, with major players in clean energy, manufacturing, healthcare, and computer and software development. For over 20 years, Round Rock has been home to the headquarters of Dell, one of the world’s leading tech companies. In addition, Round Rock is home to many other renown companies, such as Emerson Automation Solutions and Sears Customer Care. But Round Rock isn’t just about big business – many innovative entrepreneurs and small businesses find their niche in this city.
